KRAK
Center for Contemporary Culture Bihać
Built as the Kombiteks Workers' Club and conceived as a place of socializing and workers' emancipation, today's KRAK is part of the spatial framework of the collective memory of the citizens of Bihać.
from the Jury statement:
"The Centre for Contemporary Culture project, KRAK, addresses the theme of revitalization as a super-relevant condition of our contemporary world. (...) As the project KRAK shows us, it is not only about reusing mere physical structures but also about preserving and continuing the collective memory of a certain building, program, or place. The project is conceptually thorough and aesthetically skillful, but foremost it rests us assured that we can trust in interdisciplinary teams of young artists to perpetually push the values for better society."
